White. Endless, slow drifting snow. A perpetual abyss of cold; it swamps the land, coating this once evergreen land in snow. A bright orange jacket, sticks out like a sore thumb in this blinding white. It hurried towards me, leaving a trail of trampled snow behind. I turned, abandoning my pitiful shelter and shoved my frozen sandwich in my backpack; I began to run. My flashlight flickers, then dies, the battery is dead.
